Dave Merwood served his plumbing apprenticeship in the small town Taihape in 1986 moving to Taupo in 1992. A few years later in 1998 Dave and Kylie established Merwood Plumbing & Drainage Limited.

Their excellent reputation led Laser to invite them to join the group to become Laser Plumbing Taupo in June 2008.
